Question CD rom and Harddisc is not detecting while installing suse /RHEL in my laptop


Hi Guys

am using lenovo 3000 g430 laptop,

when i tried to install suse 10,9 and RHEL 5 , it is not detecting both my hard disc and CD rom it is saying "unable to mount cdrom"

what will be the reason guys

What's the system? Is it IDE? SCSI? SATA?

Just a two minute google produced this idea

In the BIOS configuration, change from AHCI to compatibility mode.

Then I suggest you go hunting yourself. It does seem to need a r5ecent kernel. I don't know kernel versions on the distros you tried. Sometimes a look in the changelog of the kernel tells you what version you need.
