Can somebody walk me thru XFree install

I am new to linux. I installed mandrake 10 . I heard the new drivers for intel 855gm video is in XFree 4.4 . I followed as is given in the XFree site for installation. But after installing when i run XFdrake it still shows XFree86 4.3. S is there any way to fix it so it will use the newer version. Or How can I completely remove XFree 4.3 and reinstall so that XFdrake will link to this.

Thanks
Kart

how are you installing XFree 4.4? an rpm?? are you removing 4.3 or upgrading>???

btw... XFree4.4 might be tough to get going on mandrake.. mandrake makes a lot of patches to XFree, with XF4.4 having the new lisense thing no one is patching it... but either way.. good luck
