Can not configure wireless card

I have a Toshiba laptop and have installed a Gateway 802.11b wireless card. The machine identifies the card but I am unable to configure it. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you in windows, or in Linux? What distro if you're in linux? I'm really not that good with different distros of linux, but I know in Redhat/Fedora there is a network configuration tool in System Settings.

hi,
it's great that the card is being recognized ...
you should get a package called "wireless-tools" - they should be called the same in suse. it's a set of utilities for your wireless interface.
the most important being "iwconfig", and 'iwlist" for me at least.

so, you will most likely be using the following tools(/commands) - "ifconfig" (to bring up/down the interface), "iwconfig" (to connect to a wireless AP and to set other parameters like wep-keys...), "iwlist" (to scan for AP's if your cards' driver supports scanning).

there is also a utility called "pump". you can try it if you want.

i'm not familiar with graphical tools for this, as i haven't used any - just the commands above, and a few more.
