Can't Load/Install DSL on toshiba

I've got a Toshiba Satellite Pro 430cdt, and I'm looking to install damn small linux on it.

My main obstical is getting the OS to boot at all. I made a boot floppy but when it trys to load DSL all I get is a screen that says "SYSLINUX Version: 1.76-0 (Debian, 2002-10-4)", nothing more.

Is there anything I can do to load it on other then take the hard drive out and install linux using my desktop.

Anything would be great.

Nick.

P.S. I know DSL isnt the best distro, so if theres a better one thats easier to install feel free to mention it.
