Can't Boot with Any Flavor of Linux on Twinhead Laptop
Howdy,
I recently purchased a Twinhead H12Y laptop and seem to be unable to get any flavor of Linux to boot (off a CD). I've tried UBUNTU: Hangs on boot. I've tried a Nero 6 recovery tool (BackItUp): Hangs on boot. I've tried Backtrack2: Hangs on boot. Here are a pair of screenshots from the hang points: Nero BackItUp, Backtrack2 There seems to be some discussion about a network card driver bug (here). Any thoughts? |
Have tried disabling ACPI? That's the usual culprit.

I agree with Nexus...disabling ACPI would be a good start. You might also be able to do an installation with a NOPROBE option, to prevent the installer from looking too hard at your hardware.
Have you tried any other flavors of Linux? OpenSuSE? Mandriva? Knoppix? |
