Brightness not changing .

hello everyone.
i am using deepin 2014.2 on my hp elitebook 6930p. which has ati radeon HD 3450 graphics. when the OS loads it has full brightness but when i plugged in/out the AC adapter, the brightness fixed at lower level and cannot change till next reboot.
Please reply ASAP.

If you're using the fglrx drivers. xcalibs and xrandr if you're not to adjust brightness / gamma.

$ xrandr --output HDMI1 --brightness 0.8:0.8:0.8 --gamma 1:1:1

to restore

$ xrandr --output HDMI1 --brightness 1:1:1 --gamma 1:1:1

to know the name of your display(s) ... HDMI1 in my case...

$ xrandr

On my intel gpu, I can echo a value to /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

Also bear in mind that the display probably has a few buttons as well.
