Hi I'm trying to install slackware 11 on a brand new dell 6400, and after recompiling the kernel I'm getting a kernel panic. I have compiled the sata driver and the filesistem reiserfs into the kernel, and I still get this error. Has anybody experienced this problem, if so I would appreciate any help in solving this issue.

Actually, let me post a complete list of problems I've encountered dooring installation.

1 - SMP: I installed slack using the huge26 kenel, it worked but didn't detect my dual core even after recompiling the kernel and enabling smp and multicore support. I used the smp kernel in the "extra" directory and that one worked but still gave me some problems with the rest of the stuff read bellow.

2 - Wireless: I tried setting up the wireless compiling the intell provided drivers and firmware, but when I loaded the modules as described in the readme I got a bunch of errors related to encryption.

3 - Screen Resolution: I used the 915Resolution BIOS hack, but couldn't get the resolution higher 1024x728.

I've been using this laptop installation guide which is for ubunto, and used the config file provided on the guide to compile the most resent kernel which is the one that doesn't boot.
