bootable usb distro, supporing ipw2200 chipset

Hey all,

I've recently aquired a couple of usb sticks (256Mb). I'd love to put a bootable linux distro onto one of them.

I'm keen to identify a distribution which will fit onto the 256Mb usb stick (and boot from USB), and support the intel centrino 2 wireless chipset (ipw2200).

Any advice?

Yes, you need syslynux see: syslinux.zytor.com/iso.php

and

There is a short document from Marwan Shaher - Create Bootable USB Flash Drive (don't know where I got it but you can GOOGLE.

If you succeed let us know what you have done and how.

Thanks, cloudbuilder. I'm well aware that syslinux can be used to boot a linux distribtution from a usb stick.

I'm after views on any usb bootable distros which support the ipw2200 chipset. I know that DSL and feather linux can both be made to boot off usb. But I don't think that either of them support the ipw2200 chipset [might be wrong]

You should be able to install that yourself. Use a loop back mount of the distribution root file system(prob. ISO file). Copy and make changes. Rebuild root file system and pack it back to usb stick.
