Question boot stopping if running on batteries

Hello,

I'm facing a strange problem: recently I have upgraded to the latest 2.6.27 kernel. Everything is ok except that the boot stops approximately at the udev initialization phase if I'm running on batteries. If I plug in the the boot resumes, if I take it out it pauses.
Any ideas what might cause this wierd behavior?

Some details:
Distribution: Slackware 12.1
Kernel: 2.6.27 patched with bootsplash
Laptop: HP Pavilion dv9000

Thank you,
Regards,
T.

Have you tried booting with the wireless device switched on? I think a few HPs have some annoying hardware bugs.

Yes, but unfortunately it doesn't help.

That's unfortunate - you may have to trawl through the kernel bug reports or bugs filed against udev to see if the problem has already been reported.
