Bluetooth on Dell Inspiron 8600

I am struggeling to get bluetooth working on my Dell Inspiron 8600.

Some info.:
>> uname -a
Linux venus 2.4.21-4.EL #1 Fri Oct 3 18:13:58 EDT 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I have installed RPM's from

I have tried more-or-less all the suggestions from various sites regarding
how this should work.......

The bottom line is that when I try to launch:
/etc/init.d/bluetooth start
after installation of RPM's then the following appears:
Starting Bluetooth subsystem: hcid sdpdCan't open HIDP control socket: Address family not supported by protocol
hidd hid2hciCan't open RFCOMM control socket: Address family not supported by protocol

Any ideas - or how-to's - are appreciated ;-)

Regards, Eldor
