Black Screen when installing SUSE at boot on Compaq Presario Laptop
Hi. I've been trying to install SUSE on my laptop. I used the partitioning utility on my Windows 7 Compaq. I made a virtual hard drive for 20GB under C under the name Linux. I'm not sure if I even did this correctly. Afterwards, I changed the Bios settings to make the hard drive boot last. When I powered up the computer, I tried putting the installation DVD in and it started to boot the DVD, or so I thought. When it should have popped up with an installation menu, instead it gave me a black screen with a white blinking cursor. I tried the installation CD as well, and had the same problem. Any help or advice would be useful. The specs on my laptop are: 2GB of RAM and an intel celeron processor, if that helped. Thanks in advance :).
