Bios Problem after Linux install
Hi I posted this over at the ubuntu forum but think it may be a bit more general than actually aubuntu linux specific question, in fact it may not be linux related but since it happened after the install I have to make some assumptions that it is....Could it be that linux changed my bios? I seem to have lost lots of options that were there before an install of UBUNTU Studio regarding cpu clock speeds and FBS. They just dont appear any more in the bios, in fact just about the only things I can alter are boot order and passwords, I seem to have lost a whole page of stuff regarding hardware. I am dual booting an Acer Aspire 9420 with XP pro and have flashed the bios v1.13 with the latest one available from Acer v1.24 to see if it would get the settings back - it didnt. Has any one heard of this before?
I cant seem to come up with a search string in google that doesnt throw up pages of "changing Bios settings" related stuff, where as this has actually changed my whole bios.
