"bios handoff failed" message at installation of fedora 14

Hi I am Rakesh..and i am using toshiba satellite pro c650
I am a moderate user of linux (started using since 4 months)
I am usin fedora core 14 right now on my system ..
during installation i a failed message was found saying that "bios handoff failed"..
as i put a query here i was guided to add acpi="off" at the beggining of installation ...but this made my laptop a desktop i mean my linux treats it as a desktop and doesn't show me any batery option and also my headphone input output sockets are not working............
even the system after shutdown doen't switch off by itself it justs end at a black blank sceen....
i have also installed f12 there was no bios hand off failed everything was perfect except my ethernet outlet it was n,t working
this bios problem was found from f13 and ubuntu 10.04

so please guide me what to do inorder to get my battery activated and my adio inout and output working
