Best distro for nVidia Ion netbook (HP 311)
Hi guys and gals,
I am looking to replace my XP netbook with a linux OS. I'm pretty comfortable with RedHat/Fedora, but unless you take a really long time to strip it and config it (which I am too lazy to do), I'm looking for something that will work out of the box, if possible. I've been a big fan of Linux Mint in the past.
What I need my netbook to do is browse the web wirelessly, watch mp4 movies, and do some light gaming on wine if it supports it (not optimistic there), and basic office stuff, which they all do.
Are there any distros out there that are lightweight enough to run well on an atom netbook, and make installing the ION drivers as least barbaric as possible? I don't mind commandline at all, just don't want to spend too much time compiling packages if I don't have to (have two boys under age 4 at home, 'free' time is quite rare for me!)
Thanks in advance as always!
