Battery not detected in ubuntu 12.04


Hi I have installed ubuntu 12.04 on my toshiba L650 laptop. My problem is its battery is not detected by ubuntu 12.04. Anybody know a fix???

I had some trouble with a netbook last year.
Had to install acpi - you would think this would be installed by default. Haven't checked precise.
