Question "Battery broken or may be old" error in fedora 11


Hi, I am getting an pop up message which displays a message like below

"Batter broken or may be old"

my laptop battery is also showing only 45.3% battery even after 3 hours charging by removing adapter. please help me in this regards.

What, exactly, do you think we can help you with?? YOUR BATTERY IS BROKEN. Replace it.

and while you are at it INSTALL the current fedora 13
fedora 11 is dead and unsupported and hit End Of Life a few months back

then in about 4 to 5 months install the then current fedora 14 .

On the contrary - probably not broken at all. I started getting this on my Dell after a couple of years use.
I just ignored it - the disk errors were a different matter all together ...

How old is the laptop/battery?
May not help but you could try a "battery calibration cycle" like the following.
