Battery Applet on Sony Vaio V505BC

Hi,

I've been trying to get the battery applet to work on my notebook. I'm using a Sony Vaio PCG-V505BC, and running RHEL 3U2 (stock 2.4.21 kernel). I am trying to get the battery monitor built into Gnome to work.

Does anyone know how to get the battery applet to work?

Thanks.

And if it's not you'll have to rebuild your kernel with ACPI support. After make menuconfig/xconfig/whatever (this is explained in the HOWTO), select general options and scroll all the way to the bottom to enable ACPI support. Enable everything you need - rebuild.
