Backtrack on HP Pavilion dv7 - 6000 series.

Hello, Linuxquestions.org users.

First of all I AM NOT A NOOB. Do not flame because i want backtrack.

I have Ubuntu installed on my HP Pavilion dv7 - 6... series.
Now it wasnt easy to go through all that.

Ive been working a while whit linux ubuntu distro.
But since We want to take it a step further in security pentesting.
I would like to get backtrack installed. Yes most of it can be installed on all the linux distros.
One problem, half won't work on this laptop. Even hav several errors and crashes when installing ubuntu because of the radeon dual graphics card.

Also after some reasearch I'm not the only one whit this problem.
Installing backtrack would leave me a black screen resulting in nothing.

I would be trying to edit the grub but since that didnt work out for ubuntu either i wont.

Now i would like to know if there is someone who succeeded to install backtrack on dv7 - 6000 series. If yes please help me out! Gratitute for your time.

Greetings InQontroll. ps. sorry for the bad english its not my native language.

Greetings InQontroll.
Perhaps, of those 88 views, none of them had successfully installed Backtrack on an HP Pavilion as you asked. In fact, by bumping your thread, you've reduced the visibility by taking it off the zero-reply list.

At what point did you get the black screen on the laptop? Did you manage to boot on a live CD? Did the installer complete successfully?

Wont work from cd, wont work from live usb, wont work from either the linux installer or unetbootin.
The black screen happons almost as soon as the setup starts.
I do have acces to where i should do the partitioning. Space enough and had only 2 partitions in use. Which allows me to use the other 2.
Then i tried a clean install clearing and using all the partition space which failed also. Forcing me to install ubuntu again.

Editing the grub for the radeon dual graphics card also failed to work.
Greetings InQontroll.

Are you dual-booting backtrack with Ubuntu?
If so when you install Backtrack you don't have to install bootloader just boot Ubuntu & run "update-grub"
