AW-GE780 wireless not working. NEO B2180
 

I am installing Ubuntu 8.10 onto a NEO B2180 fitted with a Azureware AW-GE780. I have tried following many forums for similar problems and I can find the driver and card recognised but they do not appear to be reading each other. The unit has both a hard switch and hot-keys (Fn+F2 in windows) which I have tried. The light does not come on. From the network manager it does not list wireless connection so cannot modify. On the hardware driver it lists the driver as active but not in use.

I feel it is due to the card not being switched on but cannot find how to do this. I have installed Ubuntu on other machines that are not switched by keys and it worked straight up. I did not attach any copies of the terminal screens at the moment but can do if required.
