I have the same graphics controller on a Compaq Presario 2170US. SuSE 8.2 recognized it without any problem and configured it automatically.
You might check the HP site and compare the specs on the Presario 2170 and the ze4354ea. I have a feeling that they are very similar. I used Partition Magic to resize the WinXP partition ( I still need to dualboot occasionally), and had no problems installing SuSE 8.2 on the remaining space.

Mine (ze 4230) works well under Redhat 9. I imagine they are they same Radeon chipset. I recompiled the kernel (2.4.21) to include radeon support though.
