ATI Mobility Radeon 9000/9100 IGP drivers (i have no 3D acceleration)
Hello friends of linux!
I'm a new linux user and i have experienced a problem with the graphics card. I installed linux recently on my laptop and thew away to the garbage all the disqusting Microsoft products.I have Ubuntu 6.10 distribution on a HP Pavilion zv5000 laptop. The problem is that the system recognises no 3D acceleration. I called the other day a friend of mine for assistance (he is an expert linux user) but nothing seemed to work. Has anyone experienced the same problem as i have? Please if you have any ideas do help me! Thanks in advance! PS. Also when i put the laptop in suspend mode it crashes and it never comes back to normal function (in other words suspend mode doesnt work correctly) |
In general you can follow this guide for fglrx driver:
http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide suspend mode is another story. Check out http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/hp.html for similar models. I would recommend you (with your friends assistance) to try www.suspend2.net it is pretty stable and has more success rate than the in-kernel suspend. |
Thanks for the advises. I followed the instructions written in : http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide but it didn't work. I also experienced problems with the sound (i couldn't control sound) so i reinstalled fglrx with the same no-3D results...
