Post Asus X540S and Fedora.


Hello.
I have a Asus X540S and I ant to install Fedora on it but I got an error message about installing boot loader. Why? Is it impossible?

Telling us exactly what the error is would help a great deal. I have no doubts Fedora can probably be installed on this hardware, Braswell is fairly well supported by the newer kernels.

I guess this hardware is build for Windows 10 !!!

All hardware now is built for Windows 10, doesn't mean linux doesn't run on it, and oftentimes better than Windows 10.

On this Laptop you can't install any version of Windows and just Windows 10.

Are you trying to dual boot Fedora and Win10?
Did you attempt to install from CD or USB?

Untrue, several reviews of this laptop with multiple distributions exist. It works quite well with linux.

I'm running Fedora 26 on a Skylake X540S and it runs Linux excellently, only issue is my headphone jack refuses to work and I haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet.
