Asus EeePC wlan0 Not Working

I'm running Arch Linux. When I open wicd it shows no networks and when I try iwlist, I get this:
Code:
# iwlist wlan0 scan
wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down
The wireless is enabled, or at least the light indicating it is on. What do I do?

What chipset does the WLAN hardware use? What driver is loaded for it?

You can try manually bringing the interface up first with "ifconfig wlan0 up", and then repeating the iwlist command. Some chipsets/drivers require that.

Running that ifconfig command worked! And for the record my wireless ethernet card is an Atheros, I think.
