Aspire One with Ubuntu8.10: is there a better alternative for NetworkManager?

Hi folks,

The wifi connection on my mini works just fine but the NetworkManager does not work as it should.
During downloading I lose my connection and when I view the settings they are not the same that I applied earlier.
After applying the right settings again the connection works fine until the next interruption.

Regards,

Sjonnie

I like using this:

http://wicd.sourceforge.net/

It should be in the repositories. You may want to uninstall network manager and then install it.

Thanks a lot!
I followed your advice and I did not lose my connection anymore.
