According to the OpenSuse wiki the Wireless should work out of the box on 11.1

In OpenSUSE 11.1 wireless adapter should work out-of-the-box.
For OpenSUSE 11.0, install madwifi package from this repository. In Yast, choose r3725+AR5007EG version on 'Version' tab for all madwifi* packages (they require openSUSE_11.0_Update main repository to be enabled).

I have wireless working flawlessley in Debian on my Acer Aspire One, following the Debian AAO wiki.
Certainly a lot more hands on than the 'everything works out of the box Distros' but I don't mind getting my hands dirty when doing an install and the directions were very specific.
ndiswrapper.. Yuck.
the Atheros ar5007 in the Aspire One requires the
OpenHAL driver from the madwifi project
