Post another "could not find kernel image:" thread

Well I am trying to boot into my pendrive into which I have installed Super Grub Disk ( or SGD as it is popularly known) using UNetBootIn. My Dell 1450 Laptop but Wipro WIVNB7710 does not.

I searched for solution of ths problem and found :
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...novice-438524/

tried the tips but all in vain
according to search results this error occurs only when syslinux is not able to find the kernel image and proposed solutions are to provide the absolute path to the kernel and initrd.

well I think it would be easier to solve this problem because SGD had installed only a few files on the drive.

few outputs to help you in helping me

1.content of the usb drive:
Code:
[anuvrat@paralinux 881C-238A]$ ls -l
total 1696
-r-xr-xr-x. 1 anuvrat anuvrat 14445 2010-05-08 15:12 ldlinux.sys
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 anuvrat anuvrat 149 2010-05-08 15:12 syslinux.cfg
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 anuvrat anuvrat 1474560 2010-05-08 15:12 ubninit
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 anuvrat anuvrat 19752 2010-05-08 15:11 ubnkern
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 anuvrat anuvrat 147728 2010-05-08 15:12 vesamenu.c32
2. content of the syslinux.cfg file:
Code:
[anuvrat@paralinux 881C-238A]$ cat syslinux.cfg
default vesamenu.c32
prompt 0
menu title UNetbootin
timeout 100

label unetbootindefault
menu label Default
kernel /ubnkern
append initrd=/ubninit
help me out .. the cd/dvd drive of wipro laptop is out of order ( for the 7th time ) and I have to install Linux on it ..

What does this mean ?

Why do you not follow the instructions from the SGD page ?
http://www.supergrubdisk.org/wiki/SGD_Howto_make

Did you follow the instructions on the UNetbootin page ?
Did you use the drop down list in unetbootin setup or download SGD first and use that ?

sir
I used the unetbootin's drop down list.
The disk worked fine on one laptop and refused to boot on another.

Code:
label unetbootindefault
menu label Default
kernel /ubnkern
append initrd=/ubninit
This is incorrect if you are using grub. You need to give the full path to the kernel image name.

example would be if the kernel was located at /boot/kernelimage then you would need to put that after kernel

kernel /boot/kernlimage

Other then that as I don't see an error here I am at a loss. I don't know much about grub2 either and this may be the problem as well.
