Hello to everyone,

I'm having ubuntu 11.10 and windoze 7
Everytime when I log in windoze i'm getting a system freeze (after some time) it takes about 40-45 seconds and then everything works fine!
When I log with ubuntu after some time my whole laptop is crashing, nothing is responding. I tried the alt+sysrq thing but it didn't work.

My laptop has the following
Processor: Intel core 2 duo T8100 @ 2.10GHz (32bit)
RAM: 3GB
Graph card: ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD 2400 256mb

Has anyone the same problem?
I hope i'll get some help can't work with windoze anymore

You got to provide a bit of detail on this bit. Does the install CD work to boot from? do you start X (is that what you called windoze)? Anything in the logs (var/log/messages or dmesg)? What distro have you?

Well, I don't understand what do you mean by booting from the installation cd..
Windoze=windows 7 :P
When it crashes i get a black screen with a lot's of lines (i suppose they're errors)
Can I find it somewhere after I reboot? Or do I have to write them by hand?

Ubuntu, iirc, uses the vesa driver a lot.
For that GPU you need the r300 OSS driver from ATI. They no longer offer a binary blob for it. Cards of that vintage are obsolete, in their opinion. ATI/AMD do support OSS development.

You need the xf86-video-ati package. Check what driver it settles on in /ver/log/Xorg.0.log. Acceptable options are 'radeon' or 'r300'

I installed new drivers but doesn't look like it's a graphic card problem..

Might be no harm to let us know what's going on :-P.

I'm not a genius but I think it's a flash problem, after I installed new drivers the only problem I got (I hope) is when playing flash videos (not only on youtube)

Some older drivers would be better maybe? By the time I have the latest.

Flash doesn't automagically use fancy graphics. There's a flash config file which I knew about, but there's too much junk in my mind atm.
