i have a amilo a 1667 ex and the following dvd device:

everytime when i try to play a dvd it doesnt work and dmesg tells me this:

has anybody an idea how i can bring my dvd device to show me my dvds?

/edit: i nearly forgot. i use ubuntu 7.04 with KDE
