I'm buying a new laptop and wonder if anyone has any experience positive or negative with these models:
HP Pavilion dv6000z
HP Pavilion dv3000z
HP Pavilion dv2000z
Compaq v6000z
Compaq v3000z
Compaq v2000z
I have a HP zv5000 that I love and everything just worked, but I recently installed a different HP Pavilion (don't remember the model) laptop that was a nightmare.
The HP dv series are beautiful machines. However, so far, they haven't been very linux friendly (for example, you have to provide certain boot options to get the machine to work decently). You can search the forums for more info. I'm hoping that in a month or two, most of the issues will be resolved. But as a laptop, they are beautiful
