Adjusting sound output device


I installed audio player xine into my compaq/hp nx5000 (i hope its correct) notebook and i want to listen through headphone but the audio still out from the notebook speakers. Already adjust sound output to headphone on the taskbar. My distro is Fedora 3 . Pls advise. Thanks

if you're using kde, run kmix. Otherwise alsamix. [ref/ kmix ]

Hi, there is no such command ? I ran Gnome.

As root, run "alsamixer". After you exit - to save your new settings run "alsactl store".
