ACPI Suspend / Sleep
 

Hello all, I have been reading around trying to figure out how to set this up so my Slackware 12 2.6.27 kernal can get my notebook to sleep when the lid closes. I've looked at a few tuts, (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_configure_acpid) and they haven't worked.

I am confused to where to start, I've visited the TuxOnIce site. I also went to the Laptop Battery option and enabled ACPI Config > and checked Standby, Suspend, Hibernate.

You don't say what your laptop is. They differ. If you have IBM, there's piles out there.
Acpid links events(lid, button, etc) to actions(=scripts)

I am hunting myself and it appears the best collection is in debian & ubuntu. Get a hold of them and Hack them to taste.

I've got it working, just tweaked a few things around.

hmm.. It shouldn't work (too well).

Yes, it suspends the computer, but it may leave your usb devices, network connection etc configured. Try adding/removing usb disks and change network status while your computer is suspended. Do these still work when you wake your computer up?
