ACPI shuts down the laptop!
here's the thing:
i installed and compiled kernel 2.6 on my laptop (the distro is KANOTIX) just to get cpufreq working. Now i have that working but everytime i put the laptop on standby using the command: echo 1 > /proc/acpi/sleep wich is the command i normally use on all distros, when i try to wake the computer from standby it just shuts down! By the way when i was choosing the options upon installation of the kernel i chose to built directly into the kernel all options regarding ACPI. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thank you |
actualy no.
these kinda problems are caused by incorect ACPI tables in hardware. thas a common problem. try to put on http://acpi.sourceforge.net maybe will help, anyway i have IBM thinkpad R40 and yet - no succes for me too. APM works, but ACPI don't. gotta do a little kernel hacking' |
