ACPI problems in SUSE 10
 

I installed SUSE 10 on a Toshiba Satellite L10-202 notebook. The only thing that I modified was the DSDT which I recompiled after some changes with iasl.
1->SUSE can "tell me" when the cable is connected or the battery is full. However in KDE Control Center->Power Management->Laptop Battery it tells me that I have partially ACPI support, that I need at least ac adaptor and battery selected in kernel. Using lsmod | grep battery and lsmod | grep ac I noticed that the modules ac and battery are loaded into kernel. I also checked the /proc/acpi/battery (I think this is the path) and the folder doesn't contains any file.
2->In /lib/modules I have found the file toshiba_acpi but I couldn't load it (ERROR: Cant load module /path/to/module).
3->I also noticed that in /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature is shown a temperature of 57-58 degrees Celsius before the fan turns on, and 51-52 degrees after the fan stops. Is it to hot for a Celeron M 1.6?
4->There is a fan directory in /proc/acpi with state files for two fans. I checked them when the CPU fan was off and also when the CPU fan was on: the value in the state file vas off on both times.
Is there anything I could do to solve my problems? A kernel recompile will do it?

Ignore the info in Kcontrol center about ACPI.

Launch kpowersave (you will also get an applet in system tray) and use it to manage the "powersaved" daemon that controls ACPI related stuff in SUSE. If you want more controls: As root: launch Yast2 and look in the system-->>power management - and put settings as you want.
