I own a TOSHIBA Satellite M45 S355 with openSUSE 11.0. for almost a year with openSUSE 10.3 and 11.0 it was all fine, the laptop did shutdown and halt, the brighness changed (with omnibook module) and almost every thing went fine.
2 weeks ago, it started some strange behavior. The laptop does not power off. when i shut it down (tried: click, "shutdown -P now", "init 0") it executes the shutdown command, everything goes on, hard disk is turned off, but the lcd is energized (and the system hangs) i have to press power button for 5 sec to get it off.
the second strange thing is that the omnibook module does not work any more. when reporting LCD brighness:
