mines in 600x400 too but an IBM T30 running Fedora Core 4 and at least it's a full screen look.
Unlike one time mandrake 10.1 installed in a tiny small box with black around it hehe.Thank goodness for the blue box to change the screen res.

i highly doubt your laptop would have any linux drivers.I am unsure if wine would let you run the windows one.

Hi,
you can try the drivers from intel but I wish you luke.
I have a TravelMate 660 that also uses an intel graphic chipset and all the times I tryed th intel driver with FC2 and FC3 the didn't even boot up completely.

Take a look at the file /var/log/Xorg.0.log and try to figure out what resolution modes your graphic card supports, configure your /etc/X11/xorg.conf accordingly.
Take care with the refresh rates on the "Monitor" section, on the "Screen" section configure the graphic resolution you want, something like this:

Modes "1280x800" "other res." "other res." "800x600" "640x480"

good luke
