Question Acer Aspire 3002LMi

Hi
My girlfriend is thinking of buying a laptop instead of a stationary, but we wonder if this one will work with Linux without too much problems (newbies here).
At least with newer distros.

Any help? If no one knows for sure, maybe you know where I could start looking for that info? Or maybe you know if other similar models work well or not...if its likely or not.

Many thanks

I bought the Acer Aspire 3003LCI a couple weeks ago, which is essentially the same model you quote above, but a somewhat different hardware configuration. I'm running Mepis Linux 3.3.1-1 on it now. You have to use ndiswrapper to get the wireless running. Other than that, I believe the minor Linux issues I've run into are attributable to the Mepis distro rather than the laptop. Acer also sells the Aspire 3000 series in Asia with a basic version of Linux installed on it rather than Windows Home Edition. So Acer obviously built this model with a side goal of it being able to run Linux.
