3D Accel. on ATI Mobility 9000
Well, I'd like to get 3d acceleration going on my laptop here. I'm using Fedora Core 1 and an ATI Mobility 9000.
I downloaded the latest DRI driver snapshot (r200-20040306-linux.i386.tar.bz2) and ran the installation file. However I get stuck at this point:
"The script will now compile the DRM kernel modules for your machine.
Press Enter to continue or CTRL-C to exit.
Compiling...
ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile
The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules. Installation will be aborted. See the dri.log file for information on what went wrong."
The output of my "dri.log" file:
"Makefile.linux:142: *** Cannot find a kernel config file. Stop."
At this point, I've checked my kernel source directory (/lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2115.nptl) and everything seems to be there. Also downloaded my kernel souce RPM (kernel-source-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl.i386.rpm) and it said that it was already installed.
What exactly is the "kernel config file" that it's looking for? Is this something that I need to create? If it's not already obvious, I'm still fairly new with Linux. Any help would be appreciated!!
