[Ubuntu] mouse and keyboard screwed up!

Hey,

This has been happening fooooooooooor a while and I haven't been able to figure it out.

I'm running 9.10, updated etc.. I currently have it set so that when I'm using the keyboard, the mouse turns off.

What happens:

when I'm using the mouse, it'lllllll keeeeeeeeep clicking or holding down or not clicking. When my mouse is over the desktop, the problem is most obvious as the cursor keeps making boxes and double clicking things and being damn annoyyying.

When I'm using my keyboard (and the mouse is off), it'll rannnnnnnndomly hold down keys and backspace and space out of control . It sucks, as you can see.

Not sure what to do. Sometimes it gets better when I restart, sometimes not. It goes away, comes again, goes away. In all, it is most sad and most frustrating.

So far, I've always been able to figure out my problems just by looking through the forums, but I can't find anything like this. Any and all help moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooost (intentional) appreciateddddddddddddddd (unintentional).
Thanks a lot, guys.

Those symptoms are typical of a defective keyboard. Have you tried the keyboard on another system?

Some of them can be cleaned. You can always turn it up side down, and give it a healthy shake. If you get lost of dirt falling out, crumbs, etc. you can vacuum them, carefully. I wouldn't suggest any kind of disassembly though. Some of them are delicate.

If you ever spilled anything liquid in it, they can be washed. The key trick is to let it dry out for several days. Anything stick is the worst.
