'Freeing Unused Kernel Memory: 224k Freed - Laptop Hangs
Hi,
Trying to install Ubuntu 5.0.4 (from a CD I know works) on a laptop. Unfortunately, when the installation environment is booting, it gets to: Code:
Freeing unused kernel memory: 224k freed I've Googled the problem, but it's turned up almost nothing of use. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, James |
don't know if it's the same thing or not, but my old thinkpad 570e does this on a soft reboot. thought it was a mandrake thing (says 'kernel panic'), but it hangs with a different message with debian. try doing a hard boot.
