What to clean up after new kernels

hello all,

I let my system be updated by yum. Even the kernel gets updated.
So in my grub menu there are a lot of entries. I know that I can modify grub.conf by hand but then all the files are still present and I like to keep my system clean.

So my question is :

Are all the files related to the kernel only in the /boot directory or are there some more dirs I have to check for files.

Is it possible to remove al files related to the kernel either by yum or rpm?

Kind regards,

Raoul

Be careful

The linux folder in /usr/src is a link (shortcut) to you current kernel source

so don't delete that one, OK.

In a console go to the cd /usr/scr directory and list, with ls -la, the contents,

it will show what the links are linked to.

happy computing.
