Question useradd: user exists

Hello folks,

I tried to create user with name bhaskar.das I got following error :

Command :
#/usr/sbin/useradd bhaskar.das

Output:
useradd: user bhaskar.das exists

I could not find entry for this user in /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow file and there is no dir in /home with name bhaskar.das

Command :
# getent passwd |grep bhaskar.das

Output :
bhaskar.das:*:10015:10012:bhaskar das:/home/bhaskar.das:/bin/bash

command :
# id bhaskar.das

Output :
uid=10015(vishal.sulibhavi) gid=10012(ecom) groups=10015(vishal.sulibhavi)

Command :
# /usr/sbin/userdel -r bhaskar.das

Output :
userdel: error deleting password entry
userdel: error deleting shadow password entry
userdel: error removing directory /home/bhaskar.das

1. Kindly suggest, what to do.
2. How can I remove data shown by getent command above.

I think you should state your OS version and show your /etc/nsswitch.conf .

Thanks! linosaurusroot

It's working...

/etc/nsswitch.conf

before changes :
passwd: files sss ldap
shadow: files sss ldap
group: files sss ldap

after changes :
passwd: files
shadow: files
group: files
