Unable to/from telnet to.from my Target board

hi,

i am not able to do a telnet to my Target board or telnet from my target board. it says as

Trying 10.145.5.3
telnet: connect to address 10.145.5.3...Connection timed out

if any idea why this happens, please let me know.
if running firewall can only be the problem, then can you please let me know how to find out whether firewall is running and disable the same??

Which distro?? On most you have to enable telnet as it's a security risk.

its Redhat linux. but wat i could figure is there is some problem with the board and not with host. Bcoz when i use some other target board, i could do a telnet both to/from that board. telnetd is available and its up. Do you have any idea how to identify the mistake in the board?
