Unable to configure acpi power button driver

I have made changes to the config to build all acpi drivers including power button module to be built as part of kernel. acpid is up and running but the power button interrupt is not being handled. The only message I see is Disabling the irq #.
/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupt/ shows ff_pwr_btn as invalid...
The proc entry /proc/acpi/button is created.
Please help me to configure the button driver
