Thumbs down Ubuntu 9.10 - ATI install went wrong

Running Ubuntu 9.10
Tried to install ATI driver with the newest Envy-NG
everything went well just until i restarted then i got a kernel panic error?

Kernel Panic - Not Syncing - VFS Unable to mount root fs on unknown block...

I Have installed Ubuntu 9.10 in Windows XP as a program. Just to try it.

Can enybody help me?
How can I get rid of the kernel panic error and how can I install the properityer ati driver in Ubuntu 9.10?

The newest Ati driver will not work on the newest kernels. There is a patch to get it to work on the forums. Just search ATI driver patch. As for the panic if you can not get to a console either use a live distro to remove the driver then redo the install and patch it right away or format the drive and reinstall.
