Angry Trying to change a password


I bought a toshiba p305d s8829 laptop/ sell er cant remember pass word any i can change it from the linux hardward they put in it,dont know the version they put in it

No, there are no 'default' passwords. But you don't say which version/distro of Linux you have. Best suggestion would be to download a brand-new version of Linux, and do a fresh installation, and set your OWN passwords.

It could be that you can boot into the system with "runlevel 1" (single user mode) which could potentially allow you to boot to root without a password.

Then use passwd command and change it.
