/proc/<pid>/stat shows zero cpu usage

hi,
I am running an apache server on fedora linux 2.6.9-1.667.
The apache is running for almost 3 days in a row and the /proc/<pid>/stat show zero user jiffies and zero system jiffies.
I looked at all httpd process - all of them shows zeors.

The apache for sure did some work to justify jiffies > 0.

can some please explain?
