Olimex SAM9-L9260 building kernel problem
As mentioned in the subject I'm using the Olimex SAM9-L9260 and I'm trying to build kernel as told in the user manual. First question is about the patches. When I run the patch named 2.6.23-rc3-at91.patch which should add general support for at91-based boards to the kernel I get a series of errors (or warnings I don't know) starting like this:
diff: linux-2.6.23-rc3/arch/arm/boot/compressed/head-at91rm9200.S: No such file or directory
diff: linux-2.6-stable/arch/arm/boot/compressed/head-at91rm9200.S: No such file or directory
/sbin/2.6.23-rc3-at91.patch: line 2: ---: command not found
/sbin/2.6.23-rc3-at91.patch: line 3: +++: command not found
/sbin/2.6.23-rc3-at91.patch: line 4: @@: command not found cmp: r7,: No such file or directory
Are these important or just trivial warnings?
And when I enter the command "$ make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux- sam9_l9260_defconfig" I get the error "make: *** No rule to make target `sam9_l9260_defconfig'. Stop."
I'm trying to do these on the board not on my Ubuntu installed laptop, I hope I'm not making a mistake? If anyone can help me I'll be really grateful. Thanks in advance.
It seems you're trying to run a patch, when you should apply it using something similar to:
patch -p0 < 2.6.23-rc3-at91.patch
