Not able to kill a process..

Hey Guys.

I am trying to kill one of my process..but not able to do it. Only kill -9 <pid> is working...Astonishingly, SIGSTOP is also not able to kill it (including all other signals)..

I want to kill it by SIGTERM..
Not sure why it is behaving like this...

strace for the process is attached...

try killing by xkill
press alt+f2 or open the terminal , type xkill and hit enter.
a cursor with a cross mark will come.click on any running process,it will be killed.

Thanks ssaha!!
Actually I want to kill a deamon process...So xkill might not help me to that extent..I need to kill that from CLI..
I am concerned on the fact why it is taking that much long time to kill that process (more than 6 sec)...and due to this, my other application programs is being hampered (though that is a different story!)
And I dont want kill -9...

Waiting for ur responses
