New network layer


hiii, i am involved in advanced topic, i want to insert a new network layer (wimax mac layer) into the tcp/ip protocol stack, lets say i want to insert my layer before or after the datalink layer

can anyone give me a key to start , how to modify the existing protocol stack ? how to do that ?

Did a quick search and found some rough articles on the subject at google. Give that a try. One book that might help is this one. http://www.amazon.com/Linux-TCP-IP-S.../dp/1584502843
