Missing ftdi_sio LKM

Hi,

This is my fist post here so i will try to make it good.

I have some custom hardware running a minimalistic Linux distro (uname -a says Linux gateway 2.6.21.5) that i got from some research coworkers. I am experimenting with remote sensors and sensor networks and would like to connect these sensors to the custom gateway but I'm having some difficulties getting a proper USB connection. I have narrowed it down to that the needed ftdi_sio drivers are not available as it is now and therefore i need to compile and include them.

When I tried 'make menuconfig' i didn't find any devices in "USB Serial Converter support". This is where i normally would find the FTDI stuff i think.

The custom hardware is a MIPS machine so when i compile the ftdi module i need to compile for this architecture, this is something i don't know how to do.

Could someone give me some pointers on how i should go about compiling for the MIPS machine or why it is no devices show up in 'make menuconfig' and how i might make the FTDI module available here.

Thanks,
B

Device drivers -> USB support ->
enable USB Serial Converter support
Then you should be able to enable the FTDI driver

ftdi_sio

Babbar:
Did you get this to work? I need a copy of this driver for mips, and have not found one. Can you post it?

Thanks,
Vertexm
